Yesterday, March 31, at Cluj HUB, the Doctorpreneurs event took place. An initiative focused on entrepreneurship in the medical field, bringing to the forefront doctors who have chosen not to follow only the traditional path of a medical career, but to build their own businesses in the healthcare sector.
The event brought together participants eager to explore the world of business, doctors, residents, students, and individuals simply interested in authentic stories, offering them the opportunity to discover real insights into what the journey from physician to founder looks like behind the scenes.
The discussions emphasized the motivation behind entrepreneurial paths, the obstacles encountered, and the lessons learned throughout the development of their initiatives.
The speakers invited to this edition shared diverse perspectives based on solid experience in both medical practice and entrepreneurship:
Dr. Dan Cristian Paul - orthopedic physician and entrepreneur, founder of DoctorOS, a clinic specialized in orthopedics and medical recovery, and initiator of HealthFEST, a festival dedicated to prevention and the promotion of a healthy lifestyle;
Dr. Alexandra Caia - specialist in plastic, aesthetic, and reconstructive microsurgery, who in 2025 founded her own medical aesthetics clinic based on advanced technologies and minimally invasive treatments;
Dr. Rareș Buduru - dentist with over 20 years of experience in implantology and oral rehabilitation, founder of STOMESTET Clinic and Dr. Buduru Clinic, where he develops modern implantology treatments centered on technology and an integrated approach to patient care.
The event program included a presentation of the LevelUP Health & Life Sciences Accelerator, followed by an interactive panel and a Q&A session that facilitated direct dialogue between participants and speakers. The event concluded with a networking session, offering opportunities to build connections between professionals from the medical and entrepreneurial environments.
Doctorpreneurs highlighted the growing interest in developing innovative initiatives in healthcare and demonstrated that when medical expertise is combined with entrepreneurial thinking, relevant solutions for the future of the healthcare system can emerge.
The event was organized by INNO, in collaboration with ROTSA, as a precursor to the LevelUP Health & Life Sciences Accelerator, an intensive 3-month program dedicated to early-stage startups in healthcare and life sciences, contributing to the strengthening of the regional innovation ecosystem.
