Mutual Recognition Agreements (MRAs) are tools that facilitate market access by reducing the costs and time associated with mandatory product certification and testing, as they establish mutual recognition between trading partners of mandatory test results and certificates for certain manufactured products.

The trade agreement between the EU and New Zealand entered into force on May 1, 2024.
This landmark agreement is expected to further strengthen the steady growth of bilateral trade, with forecasts indicating a 30% increase in trade volumes. The removal of tariffs alone is expected to save companies 140 million euros annually.
In addition, EU investments in New Zealand could rise by more than 80% in the coming years. Thanks to the stability and predictability provided by the agreement, a significant increase in trade in services is also anticipated.
