The North-West Regional Development Agency announces the completion of the European training programme EIT InfraBooster – Government Executive Academy (GEA), dedicated to public sector representatives working in the fields of innovation, research and smart specialisation. The programme was implemented in Romania by ADR Nord-Vest in collaboration with the Social Centre for Research on Inclusive Innovations at the Faculty of Management of the University of Warsaw, as part of the EIT InfraBooster portfolio. The strong interest in this training confirms that more and more public institutions are looking for ways to better support innovators and make effective use of research infrastructures. A total of 201 people registered, and 105 participants completed the course and received EIT Food certification. Most participants came from key central and regional institutions such as the Ministry of Investments and European Projects, regional development agencies across the country, UEFISCDI, research centres and local authorities, clearly reflecting the growing interest in strengthening administrative capacity in the field of innovation. The programme was delivered online, in Romanian, in a flexible format that combined self-paced modules with interactive live sessions and the option of on-demand mentoring. Participants explored topics such as the role of research infrastructures in economic development, sectoral regulations, collaboration between science and industry, and European funding mechanisms, gaining practical skills directly applicable in their daily work. The results show that the need for training in this area is real, and the level of engagement demonstrates the willingness of public institutions to adapt and to support innovation ecosystems more effectively. We hope that the tools, examples and perspectives provided through GEA will contribute in the long term to better designed policies and practices in the field of innovation.
