On June 25, Cluj-Napoca hosted a significant event for Romanian SMEs in the digital, health, and green technology sectors. The event marked the launch in Romania of the EU Business Hub - Japan and South Korea program, financed by the European Union.
The program aims to connect innovative European companies with the dynamic markets of the two Asian countries, with which the European Union has partnership agreements. To achieve this goal, 20 business missions will be organized over four years, until 2027, in the two countries, with 1,000 European SMEs and startups expected to benefit from personalized assistance.
Each business mission will include representatives of 50 European companies operating in the fields of green technologies/carbon emission reduction, digital solutions, and healthcare/medical equipment.
The official presentation of the program took place in Brussels on May 28, followed by national launch events.
Over 60 participants, including representatives of companies, universities, and public entities dedicated to business support, attended the launch event in Cluj-Napoca, organized by the Danis Foundation for Management Development and Eurochambres, as promotion partners of the program.
"Cluj-Napoca, recognized for its economic dynamism and vibrant business community, is the ideal place to discuss international expansion. Our city is a center of innovation and entrepreneurship, perfect for launching a program that promises to open up new opportunities for Romanian SMEs," said Sanda Anca, business development expert at the Danis Foundation in her welcome speech.
The event included detailed presentations about the program, the first business missions planned in Japan and South Korea, the calendar of activities, and a demonstration of the program's dedicated online platform. Participants had the opportunity to ask questions and receive direct answers from the organizers during an interactive Q&A session.
"We are delighted to see such great interest from the Cluj business community. The EU Business Hub program offers EU companies the opportunity to expand globally into dynamic Asian markets, contributing to their sustainable growth. Business missions play a crucial role in this process, providing practical and strategic support for entering these markets," said Ana Sărățeanu, Network Services Manager at Eurochambres, Brussels.
The Danis Foundation is a non-profit organization founded in 2000 in Cluj-Napoca. The organization's mission is to promote entrepreneurship and professional excellence among young people and business people through management and entrepreneurship education programs.
