North-West Development Agency Hosts Successful UK Economic Mission

A delegation from the University of Liverpool and British business leaders visited Romania's North-West region on April 8-9, 2024. Hosted by the North-West Regional Development Agency and RISE Institute, the mission aimed to build academic partnerships and strengthen economic ties between UK and North-West Romanian companies. The focus was on the healthcare sector, particularly innovative medical products and services. Over 50 local entrepreneurs connected with British firms, signing collaboration agreements to fuel growth. The program included: ◆ Visits to prominent universities: Babeș-Bolyai, Cluj-Napoca Technical University, and the University of Medicine and Pharmacy Cluj-Napoca. ◆ A visit to the Cluj-Napoca Recovery Hospital, where the delegation witnessed the hospital's modern facilities and the professionalism of its medical staff. ◆ A trip to the Turda Salt Mine, a renowned tourist destination attracting hundreds of thousands of visitors annually. ◆ A Business Forum, co-organized by Europe Enterprise Network and hosted by Nagarro. This forum showcased investment and financing opportunities in healthcare, while facilitating networking sessions between UK and Romanian companies. The mission promises several key benefits: ◆ Stimulating the local economy through job creation and attracting investments to the North-West region. ◆ Strengthening collaborations between Romanian and British healthcare companies. ◆ Facilitating the exchange of knowledge and best practices in healthcare. Highlighting the North-West region as a significant hub for healthcare innovation and entrepreneurship.
