Budget
Projects may request between €300,000 and €500,000 in EIT Health funding. EIT Health funds a maximum of 50% of the project’s total costs. The company must secure the remaining 50% co-funding from other sources.

The Transformative Healthcare Instrument is designed for high-potential European startups developing solutions for unmet clinical needs. The programme supports companies in: • Advancing product development • Strengthening commercialisation strategies • Preparing for the next fundraising stage • Increasing the maturity of innovative healthcare solutions • Validating and scaling solutions across European markets Target areas include biotech, medtech, digital health, AI, biomarkers and diagnostics.
Eligibility
The programme is intended for private companies, especially micro, small and medium-sized enterprises and startups. Companies must have at least 4 full-time equivalent employees. Applicants must have closed a minimum total equity investment of €2,000,000 within the previous 36 months, with at least one new investor contributing. Projects must meet the minimum Innovation Maturity Levels depending on their industry focus: • Biotech - IML ≥ 5 • Medtech - IML ≥ 6 • Digital - IML ≥ 7 • Biomarkers / Diagnostics - IML ≥ 7

The programme targets companies at an advanced development stage, with existing investment validation and readiness to accelerate growth. The funding is relevant for startups aiming to further develop their solution, strengthen their market strategy and attract additional financing.
