Budget

Projects may request between 300,000 and 500,000 EUR in EIT Health funding. EIT Health will fund a maximum of 50% of the project’s total costs. The company must secure the remaining 50% co-funding from other sources.

Details

This call aims to strengthen integration between the research and business sides of the knowledge triangle by accelerating healthcare innovations borne out of research to support commercial and business growth of small and micro enterprises in European markets. 4 All funded projects under this Call are expected to generate the following outcomes and long-term impact. • Commercial acceleration, including attracting additional funding, closing future venture capital investments, and growing revenue (where applicable). • Developing and accelerating new health innovations with high potential to positively impact the lives of the citizens of Europe, as well as to generate financial returns. • Protection of new innovations and micro, small, and medium enterprises (SME ́s) via intellectual property (IP) strategy. Projects should last no longer than 12 months. All proposals must include a comprehensive workplan and budget describing all the required work packages, tasks and costs to successfully carry out the project and achieve the target outcomes.

Eligibility

The THI is intended to support private companies, specifically Micro, Small and Medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), with at least 4 full-time equivalent employees. Eligible companies must have closed a minimum total equity investment of 2,000,000 EUR within the previous 36-months, with at least one new investor contributing. Funded projects must be at the Innovation Maturity Levels (IML) listed below, depending on their industry focus: IML ≥ 5 for Biotech (Safety/Toxicity study stage). IML≥ 6 in Medtech (Initial clinical PoC) IML ≥ 7 for Digital (Market validation) IML ≥ 7 for Biomarker / Diagnostics
