Selected projects can receive up to €60,000 in funding per project. In total, the call will support up to 20 third-party projects developing innovative services for the digital energy transition.

Details

The ODEON Open Call aims to develop innovative digital energy services and applications built on the ODEON Cloud-Edge Data & Intelligence Service Platform. Applicants must propose solutions using federated energy data sharing, AI-based tools and cloud-edge architectures. The solutions should contribute to expanding the ODEON ecosystem and address the needs of actors across the energy value chain, including network operators, Local Energy Communities, aggregators, consumers and prosumers. Selected projects will take part in a 10-month support and mentoring programme structured in three stages: Individual Mentoring Plan & Project Design - refining the project concept, planning technical integration and developing a tailored mentoring roadmap. Energy Service Development - developing and implementing the proposed service using the ODEON technological framework. User Validation and Impact Creation - testing and validating the solutions with relevant users and stakeholders.

Eligibility

The call is open to legal entities, with a particular focus on SMEs and startups. Applicants must have the capacity to develop innovative services using energy data, AI technologies and digital infrastructures. Proposals must build on the ODEON Cloud-Edge Data & Intelligence Service Platform and address one of the 13 challenges defined in the call.

Applicants must address only one of the 13 proposed challenges, including: • Monitoring, Governance, and Lifecycle Management • Federated Edge-AI Pilot • Development of an edge-deployable bi-directional data connector for residential energy assets • Next-day load baseline calculation for local flexibility market participation • Secondary substation load forecasting • Smart Charging V2G/G2V under grid signals • Forecasting services for Local Energy Communities • What-if scenario analysis for prosumers • Structuring residential flexibility for demand response and aggregation • Cross-Dataspace Interoperability & Energy AI Services Applications will go through a multi-stage evaluation process, including eligibility checks, expert evaluation and final selection.
