INNO participated last week in the Berlin Playground event, an annual gathering organized by Connect & Experience for its alumni. Over the years, this event has witnessed remarkable growth, with the community expanding from 20 to over 130 ecosystem leaders since 2019. With expertise spanning deep tech, AI, innovation policies, climate tech, health, academia innovation, and more, the community's impact has extended to thousands of startups worldwide. The Playground serves as a central hub for our community, offering a platform to build our tribe, foster connections, exchange knowledge, and collectively grow stronger. Laviniu Chis had the opportunity to engage in various workshops and sessions led by industry experts, exploring topics such as ecosystem development, social capital building, and the role of tribes in innovation. Through this immersive experience, he gained valuable insights and contributed to the vibrant exchange of ideas within the Connect & Experience network. The event kicked off with a "Reconnect & Experience" day, featuring a session on mapping the ecosystem and an overview of the Israeli innovation ecosystem. The highlight of the day was the "Let’s Talk Tacheles" workshop, led by the Israel Innovation Institute. Experts including Sharon Goldberg, Tal Biran Ben, Yoav Fisher, and Deborah Kries shared their insights on ecosystem development and strategies for taking ecosystems to the next level of maturity. The main focus of the Playground event was "Build Your Tribe," featuring a lineup of global experts: - Pranav Arya from Startup Genome provided fascinating insights from the Startup Genome Scale Up report, highlighting the impact of global and local connectivity on innovation ecosystems. - Balazs Furjes, Managing Director of EIT Health InnoStars, led a practical workshop on the role of social capital and tribes within innovation ecosystems, emphasizing a mindset shift. - Tal Biran Ben Gal, CBO at the Israeli Innovation Institute, shared her story as a guide for DeserTech innovation leaders for the GGW. - Inbal Perlman, Partner at TAU Ventures, conducted an energetic workshop on building trust among stakeholders. - Ido Engel, Cloud GTM Lead, Southeast Europe at Microsoft, provided a deep dive into the fast development of AI and its implications for startups. - Pui San Tam, Project Manager at EIT Hub SV, moderated a panel discussion on "Building a Global Ecosystem For, By, and With Entrepreneurs," featuring insights from Lisa Janßen, Programme Lead at EIT Climate-KIC, and Serghei Glinca, co-founder of DEEP Ecosystems.
