Techsylvania is an annual technology conference held in Cluj-Napoca, that brings together professionals, entrepreneurs, investors, and tech enthusiasts from various fields and industries. The event features keynote speeches, panel discussions, and workshops by some of the brightest minds in the tech industry, making it an excellent opportunity to learn, network, and showcase your work.
This year, Techsylvania conference took place at Cluj Innovation Park, between 7-8 June. Throughout the two days, an impressive array of speakers graced the stage, including highly anticipated individuals such as:
• Scott Chacon, who co-founded & sold GitHub, a platform with 100 million developers for $7.5 billion.
• Slava Rubin, founder of Indiegogo, one of the most well-known crowdfunding platforms in the world.
• Yossi Matias, the founding director of Google's Center in Israel and leader of AI efforts in Europe.
• Prince Constantijn van Oranje of the Netherlands, who is helping quantify and accelerate the tech ecosystem of the Netherlands.
• Al Doan, founder of Missouri Star Quilt Company on how he built a $100M quilting business and bought a town.
• Donald Sumbry from Upbound – “Unleashing the Power of AI: How Engineering Managers Can 10X Their Performance with ChatGPT”.
• Lars Rasmussen, creator of Google Maps.
In addition to the conference sessions, Techsylvania also featured a range of technical workshops and satellite events organized by their partners. INNO also had the opportunity to host a satellite event, an online workshop for health start-up founders on “How to Build a Defensible Business Model for MedTech and BioTech”. Led by Nelli Morgulchik, an industry expert, this workshop provided valuable insights into the lean start-up methodology and best practices for developing defensible business models in the fields of biotechnology and medical technology.
Nelli Morgulchik addressed some crucial questions during the workshop, such as “Why do start-ups in the biotech and medtech sectors often fail?”, “What is the Lean Start-up methodology, and how can entrepreneurs shift their focus from solutions to problems?”, and “How can entrepreneurs find the right product-market fit for their medtech products?”.
We express our gratitude to the organizers who have invited us once again, as this marks the second consecutive year of hosting a satellite event at Techyslvania. We extend our heartfelt thanks to Nelli Morgulchik from Pioneer Group for her exceptional hosting skills and expertise. And, of course, Teodora Chifor from RISE Institute who played a crucial role in making this workshop possible, and we are immensely grateful for her support.
