To help accelerate the application of promising technologies with the potential to transform the discovery and development process, Johnson & Johnson launched the Data & AI Fueling R&D of Tomorrow QuickFire Challenge: Singapore & Beyond. Innovators from Singapore or across the globe, with a demonstrated interest in leveraging the Singapore ecosystem, are invited to submit their novel AI/ML strategies and approaches to augmented science that have the potential to transform drug discovery and research. The innovators with the most promising potential solutions aligned to this QuickFire Challenge will have the opportunity to receive award funding from a total pool of up to $400,000 and mentorship from experts across Johnson & Johnson. Select awardees may also receive JLABS Singapore membership.

Eligibility

Potential solutions will be evaluated by a panel of reviewers on their ability to meet the following criteria: Strategic alignment with QuickFire Challenge areas of interest Potential impact for transforming the drug research and discovery process Potential novelty and differentiation of approach based on benchmarking to public data sets or examples Feasibility of the idea or methodology Identification of key resources and a plan to further the idea Team quality and capabilities Demonstrated interest in the Singapore innovation ecosystem

What we’re looking for Innovators around the world with a demonstrated interest in leveraging the Singapore ecosystem are invited to submit their novel AI/ML innovation strategies and approaches to augmented science with the potential to transform drug discovery and research. Specific areas of interest include: Foundation models and multi-omics capabilities for uncovering novel biology Virtual disease models and validation platforms to interrogate complex biological mechanisms Computer vision and digital health tools that enable precision medicine Generative AI and agentic frameworks to extract insights from large datasets, enhance scientific workflows, and boost R&D productivity Not in scope for this challenge: Life science tools developers (e.g., equipment, devices, reagents) or medical devices Contract research organizations Patient or physician-facing apps (e.g., IoT/Connected sensors for patient monitoring, health counseling chatbots)
